The Beginning of the Contest

It was a very hot noon, when Isabelle’s best friend, Sophie, had come over to Isabelle’s new house in Oregon. Isabelle’s showed her to her room.

All Sophie could say was, “So you’re going to go with the look… flashy, huh?”  

“No. Actually the people who lived here before us had a daughter too. That was the person who picked the “flashy” look,” replied Isabelle.

“ Oh,” said Sophie. Then Sophie remembered! She pulled a piece of paper from her backpack. After that she told Isabelle about what she had pulled out. She said it was a Baking Contest!!!! Isabelle got so excited that Sophie had to literally calm her down! After she settled down, Sophie told her a few rules about the contest. The rules were: No help, and Original recipe. Other things that it said on the scroll for the baking contest is that finalists get to go to New York, and if you win get you … $1000!!!! Both of them started to wonder a few things, like what if I get to go to New York or maybe I’ll get $1000! They both knew it was going to be a  challenge to make  a recipe, but they were going to do it for the fun of it! It’s Raining Cupcakes is an exciting book because Isabelle and Sophie face a challenge competing against each other trying to come up with a recipe to win the challenging contest and go to New York.
